Computex 2013: ASUS Unveils Transformer Pad Infinity

Amongst the whole range of products unveiled by ASUS at Computex 2013 in Taipei, there was a tablet that was first seen earlier this year. The device in question is a 25.6-cm (10.1-inch) screen comes with 2,560 x 1,600 resolution. It runs on a quad-core Tegra 4 chip clocked at 1.9GHz. Connectivity features include USB 3.0 port, Bluetooth 3.0 and 4K output via HDMI. 
The body carries a metallic-finish which is similar to the current Zenbook and the latest Infinity tablets. Other specs include 16, 32 and 64GB variants of internal storage, 2GB of RAM, an SD-card slot, a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 1.2-megapixel camera on the front. The key board dock now incorporates a multi-touch touchpad.

Additionally, the tablets will be available in Wi-Fi or LTE variants. Thought the LTE versions would not carry the Nvidia Tegra 3 chip, but instead run on Snapdragon's S-4 dual-core processor. Also with this tablet, Asus had announced a change in the name of their tablet line-up from "Transformer Prime" to "Transformer Pad" and the Transformer Pad Infinity was the first under the new name.

There's no word on the pricing and availability yet though the device is expected to be priced somewhere close to $ 780.

HCL Launches HCL ME Connect 2G 2.0 Calling Tablet

HCL recently launched the ME Connect 2G 2.0 tablet. The tablet is now available for sale on online retail store since the last week and packs a 17.78-cm (7-inch) (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, which is powered by a 1GHz Cortex A9 processor that runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It packs a 2-megapixel rear camera and a VGA front camera for video calling. The tablet has 2G connectivity via SIM card slot and supports voice calling. The second version of the HCL ME Connect 2G can read and write in 11 local Indian languages that includes Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Kannada, Marathi and more. 
The online orders are offering freebies worth more than Rs. 2000, and it comes pre-loaded with basic apps such as Paytm, Facebook, Twitter and apps for Games, Business, Communication, Lifestyle, Entertainment, Education, Health, etc.
The tablet is priced at $150 and is available across all major retails and e-commerce stores.
